A celebration of Filipino food and the search for a connection to my past

TollHouse Cookie

So when I was in grad school at Ohio University in 2007, I had to do an assignment for my Illustration class. It had to be a hand-drawn illustration. I couldn’t draw, so I had to do something simple. I chose a topic of Chocolate Chip Cookie and a timeline graphic. This is what I came up with.

The TollHouse cookie was one of the earliest cookies I learned how to bake (recipe on back of the package), so it is a large part of my baking history. If it wasn’t for this recipe and the Betty Crocker Recipe Card Catalog Box, I wouldn’t have learned anything. 🙂

Some years after I created this graphic, I found an original Ruth Wakefield cookbook in a used bookstore. I’m not sure it’s worth anything, but I bought it. I could not resist.
